Jaycees' July 4th Parade

The parade starts at Lourdes high school and goes down W center street and over 2nd ave NW to the Peace Plaza. There will be activities in the plaza. Parade starts at noon, line-up at 11:30. Families can come early - there will be a Jolly Jumpz for the kids to play in at Lourdes. People can register online at www.rochesterjaycees.com. If they don't want to participate they can watch the parade along the route, too! Pets are allowed, and dressing up in patriotic colors is encouraged!

July 4th Activities @ Peace Plaza

Peace Plaza, from 4 p.m. to 8:30 p.m., free, kid-friendly activities, prizes, live music, and concessions. Bring 2 or more nonperishable food items for Channel One and receive $2 off a food purchase. www.helpingfeedpeople.org

Fireworks @ Silver Lake

Fireworks at Silver Lake Park this Sunday, July 4th. Channel One Food Bank and Food Shelf will have collection trucks at three spots (Silver Lake Park entrance, Kruse Lumber Parking Lot and the corner of Seventh Street, N.E. and 11th Avenue, N.E.), so remember your nonperishable donation (and bug spray, and chairs, and sweatshirts).
