Honors Choirs Voices Concert
VOICES: Music Celebrating Music. Sunday, February 19, 4:00 p.m. Bethel Lutheran Church, 810 Third Avenue SE.

Voices! Over 250 of them! These singers in our four choirs are from all over the region, and they audition to participate so they are the cream of the crop! This year our VOICES concert will be all about music and its incredible power in our lives. Just a few of the selections will be Irving Berlin’s “I Love a Piano,” sung by our Children’s Chorus (grades 3-4), a piece from a Handel oratorio by Treble Choir, the rhythmic hymn “Hark, I Hear the Harps Eternal” by Chorale (grades 7-9), and Moses Hogan’s “I’m Gonna Sing ‘Til the Spirit Moves in My Heart” by Concert Choir (grades 10-12). Hear ragtime, spirituals, Latin/jazz, music written long ago and music by today’s best composers – music to feed your soul! All 250+ voices will close the concert with “How Can I Keep from Singing,” telling what brings them together to rehearse week after week – music! The Honors Choirs of Southeast Minnesota invites you to come and be inspired!

The performance will take place in the spacious sanctuary of Bethel Lutheran Church in Rochester at 4:00 p.m. Reserved seats are $18, and general admission tickets are $12 for adults and $8 for youth (ages 0-college). For more information and to purchase tickets, go to www.HonorsChoirs.org or call (507) 252-0505.

Honors Choirs is grateful to the sponsors of this concert: Rodney D. Anderson Law Offices, LLC and Merchants Bank. Our season is also made possible in part by a grant from the MN State Arts Board through an appropriation by the Minnesota State Legislature from the Minnesota Arts and Cultural Heritage Fund with money from the vote of the people of Minnesota on November 4, 2008, and a grant from the National Endowment for the Arts.
