The Rochester Honkers baseball team’s season opener is 
Thursday, May 31 at 7:05 p.m. VS. the Mankato MoonDogs.  
Haven't been to a game? You've got to go. There's Slider 
(the baseball-headed mascot), free giveaways (provided by 
sponsors at many games), fun between-inning activities, and 
of course baseball. Grandstand tickets are $5/adults, 
$4/children 12 to 4 and seniors 60 and older, 3 and younger 
are free!

The Rochester Public Library is offering a free clay class 
for teenagers, June 25 and 29. Join clay artist Kate Bauman 
for two sessions of building and painting handmade clay 
projects. All pieces will be fired and clear glazed, then 
fired again to make the work food-safe. Work will be 
available for pick up at the library two weeks after the 
final session. All supplies and expenses paid for by the 
library. 
 
 
The Rochester Water Ski Show Team has been entertaining 
families for four decades. The team performs every 
Wednesday at 7 p.m. from May 30 through August 29 at 
Fisherman's Inn on Lake Zumbro, in Oronoco. They’ll also 
have a special show on Memorial Day, May 28, at 1pm at 
Fisherman’s Inn,.  
 
 
There are still some openings in the Adaptive Recreation 
Summer Day Camp program for persons ages 3-19 years with a 
Developmental Disability. Eight individual theme weeks are 
planned with the first week beginning on Monday, June 11. 
Day Camp hours are 1:00 p.m.-5:15 p.m. Monday-Friday at a 
cost of $95/week. Activities include swimming (most every 
day), arts, crafts, music therapy, and a Friday field trip 
in town. If you’re interested in finding out more call

Rochester School District Info 
The Rochester School District is preparing for a fall bond 
referendum to fund the construction of a new elementary 
school in NW Rochester. They are forming a citizens’ 
volunteer committee to run the advocacy campaign. There are 
long-term leadership opportunities as well as opportunities 
for volunteers interested in helping out with a single 
task. If you would like to be a part of this committee, 
please email Nicole Ferrara, Communications Coordinator, at 
niferrara@rochester.k12.mn.us the following information:

A new local children’s museum is in the works! Yes, you 
read right - the Children's Museum of Rochester (CMR) was 
founded by a group of area parents whose goal is to create 
and maintain a children's museum in Rochester. Incorporated 
as a nonprofit in February 2007, CMR has a growing and 
energized board of directors that is committed to the 
project's success. Its mission is to provide children the 
opportunity to discover the world around them in a 
hands-on, personal way. To support this objective, CMR will 
begin hosting an exciting series of traveling, educational, 
and interactive exhibits in Rochester starting in the
