NOW YOU SEE IT
Come see the free children's magic show this Saturday, June
2, 3 p.m. at O'Neill's Pizza (Crossroads Shopping Center).
The show will star Bob Miller, Magician and Bethany Nervig,
Rochester Magazine intern (interns get all the great
gigs!). Bethany has just learned, with Bob Miller's help,
how to perform tricks for kids. She'll be writing about
this, her very first magic show, in next month's (July)
Rochester Magazine - look for the Summer School/Life
Lessons story. Join in the fun in O'Neill's private party
room! This show is appropriate for children ages 5 - 10
years old.

A couple of new additions to the Summer Camps webpage this
week. To find out more about any of these events visit our

Horse Adventure Camps @ Ironwood Springs combine great fun,
adventure, building relationships with others and learning
about God and are being offered by the Minnesota Conference
of the United Methodist Church. Camps are offered for kids
in grade 2 through 9, in June, July and August.

Apache Mall joins 500-plus shopping centers across the
nation to kick off An Old Gloryous Celebration, a national
effort that promotes patriotism and the American flag.
Families can pledge their support to fly the flag at the
Guest Service Center. Families can also make a donation to
Operation Hometown Gratitude, a program supported by the
Rochester Public Schools to send supplies to our troops
overseas. A supply list can be picked up at the display
near JCPenney and supplies can be dropped off there through
June 19. The Operation Hometown Gratitude students will
then collect the supplies and ensure they get to the troops
that need them the most. An Old Gloryous Celebration 2006
is supported by Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW) and AMVETS
(American Veterans), two of the nation’s most prominent
veterans organizations.

A new local children’s museum is in the works! Yes, you
read right - the Children's Museum of Rochester (CMR) was
founded by a group of area parents whose goal is to create
and maintain a children's museum in Rochester. Incorporated
as a nonprofit in February 2007, CMR has a growing and
energized board of directors that is committed to the
project's success. Its mission is to provide children the
opportunity to discover the world around them in a
hands-on, personal way. To support this objective, CMR will
begin hosting an exciting series of traveling, educational,
and interactive exhibits in Rochester starting in the
spring of 2008. For more information visit the Parents
Groups/Classes webpage,
