HELPING A GREAT CAUSE 
Local women, Mandy Anderson and Angie Kilker will be 
walking 60 miles over the course of 3 days in the Twin 
Cities Breast Cancer 3 Day Walk (Aug. 24-26). Each walker 
has to raise a minimum of $2200 with the money raised going 
to the Susan G. Komen foundation and the National 
Philanthropic Trust to help with breast cancer research. 
Want to help out? Mandy and Angie will be hosting a fun 
raffle on Sunday, July 29 12-2pm at Essex Park (5455 W 
River Road NW). There’ll be entertainment by Bob Miller 
Magician, bounceables, and sand volleyball. Meat, drinks 
and chips provided, bring a dish to pass. Support the cause 
by purchasing a raffle ticket for $5. There are fantastic 
prizes (two night stay at the Kahler, Target gift card, car 
care package by Rochester Ford and Rochester Toyota). You 
do not have to be present to win. If you are unable to 
attend the drawing but want to purchase a raffle ticket

GREAT GIVEAWAY 
Elmo, Zoe, Big Bird and all their Sesame Street friends are 
taking to the stage to share their love of music in Sesame 
Street Live “Elmo Makes Music” at Mayo Civic Center 
Friday, Aug. 24 (10:30 a.m. and 7 p.m.) Saturday, Aug. 25 
(10:30 a.m. and 2 p.m.) and Sunday, Aug. 26 (2 p.m.). Three 
lucky ROCHESTERfamilies.com readers will win a family four 
pack of tickets to see "Elmo Makes Music" provided by VEE 
Corporation. (The tickets are vouchers that may be redeemed 
at the box office for tickets to the performance of your 
choice - dates/times subject to ticket availability.) To

VOLUNTEERS NEEDED 
The Rochester Amateur Sports Commission needs volunteers 
for the upcoming Beep Baseball World Series for the blind 
and visually impaired. Help is needed on Wednesday, August 
1 and Thursday August 2. Game times are 8:30am, 11:30am and 
3pm. Volunteers are needed to work either whole day or half 
day shifts. Please let Brynn Hanken of the RASC know if you 
can work a shift. Call 280-4701 or email 
hank0083@umn.edu. Volunteer duties include: switch 
operators, runner assistants, base umpires, and stats. 
 
 
NEW TO THE SUMMER CAMPS WEBPAGE 
Miracle Field Fun Night and Ball game will be held Monday, 
August 13 at the Roy Watson Youth Sports Complex. There’ll 
be baseball, food, and fun. Baseball players of all ages 
with cognitive and or physical disabilities are encouraged 
to participate. Family and community members are needed to 
be “buddy players” to help as needed to push a wheelchair 
or help swing a bat! Come join in the fun! For more

Mayo Clinic Center for Humanities in Medicine, in 
cooperation with Choral Arts Ensemble of Rochester, hosts 
Harmony for Mayo - weekly music performances that are free 
and open to all patients, staff, and visitors of Mayo 
Clinic. Performances occur every Monday from 12:10-1pm 
(unless otherwise indicated) in various locations around 
the Clinic. Children/families are more than welcome to 
attend. Often families bring a lunch and enjoy the music. 
In the summer, starting in June, these events take place 
outdoors (fun for letting kids dance around!). For a
