HELPING OUT A GREAT CAUSE
Local women, Mandy Anderson and Angie Kilker will be
walking 60 miles over the course of 3 days in the Twin
Cities Breast Cancer 3 Day Walk (Aug. 24-26). Each walker
has to raise a minimum of $2200 with the money raised going
to the Susan G. Komen foundation and the National
Philanthropic Trust to help with breast cancer research.
Want to help out? Mandy and Angie will be hosting a fun
raffle on Sunday, July 29 12-2pm at Essex Park (5455 W
River Road NW). There’ll be entertainment by Bob Miller
Magician, bounceables, and sand volleyball. Meat, drinks
and chips provided, bring a dish to pass. Support the cause
by purchasing a raffle ticket for $5. There are fantastic
prizes (two night stay at the Kahler, Target gift card, car
care package by Rochester Ford and Rochester Toyota). You
do not have to be present to win. If you are unable to
attend the drawing but want to purchase a raffle ticket

NEW TO THE SUMMER CAMPS WEBPAGE
Andrew P. Johnsrud is a Love and Logic facilitator.

Becoming a Love and Logic Parent (for parents with kids of
all ages) and Early Childhood Parenting Made Fun!

Healing Adventures Camp is a free one-day camp for children
and teens (ages 5 - 18 years) who have experienced a loss.
Campers will have the opportunity to spend time with other
children who have had a similar experience and meet with
trained grief facilitators who will encourage discussion on
loss, grief, healing and new beginnings. Campers will also
be assigned to age-appropriate groups and will participate
in a variety of activities, including: nature walks,
crafts, rock wall climbing, music and petting zoo.


United Way of Olmsted County’s Running Start for School
initiative is collecting school supplies for
children/families in need. Help “Fill-the-Truck” this week
by donating needed school supplies on July 27 and 28,
10am-4pm, in the K-Mart/Salvation Army parking lot. K-12
Olmsted County students who qualify for free or reduced
school lunch can register for free school supplies through
the Running Start for School initiative. Visit our Summer
Camps webpage to find out how to register.


Friday, August 3 through Monday, August 20 you are invited
to select a child from Apache Mall's Caring Tree and return
their tag with a backpack of school supplies. Supplies
benefit children in the Rochester area that would not
otherwise have the proper supplies to go back to school.
The Caring Tree program is sponsored by the Minnesota
Shopping Center Association, Apache Mall, and Olmsted
County’s United Way and Running Start.
