ROCHESTER INTERNATIONAL DANCE STUDIO
We strengthen, inspire and connect women (and girls) through dance.

Instruction
• Whether you want to dance for exercise, fun, cultural enrichment, or performance, Rochester International Dance Studio has the class for you.
• We offer international dance and dance fitness classes, including: Hula and Hula fitness, belly dance and belly dance fitness, Latin dance and Latin dance fitness, Bellyrobics, Zumba, Hula Hoop fitness, Nia, Tai Chi and Qigong, Bollywood and Indian dance, Chinese dance, and yoga.
• We provide daytime, evening, and weekend classes and a flexible make-up policy to fit your busy schedule. Classes are available for adults, youth, mother/daughter pairs, and teens. Class size is limited, so each dancer receives individualized attention every class. New dancers are welcome to “try on” a class for free before signing up for a full session!
• The 15 teachers on staff instruct students from all backgrounds and walks of life, varying in age from 18 months to 70+ years. No one is too old or too young, too out of shape, or too uncoordinated to experience the joy of dance. Come join other women just like you who have been strengthened, inspired, and connected through dance!

Parties
• We offer Hula or Happy Hips (Middle Eastern Dance) parties for you or your child. We can host your party at our studio or join you in your home, and parties are customized to fit your needs. We can add performances, lessons, henna art, crafts, or dance props, based on your preferences.

Performances
• We offer special dance performances for your private or community event. We often entertain and provide mini-lessons to women for bachelorette parties, birthdays, weddings, or other women’s gatherings.

Community Involvement
• We are committed to bringing international dance into the community!
• Over the last two years, we have donated our time and talents at Rochesterfest, Thursdays on First, Mayo Festival of Cultures, Rochester International Association’s World Festival, American Heart Association’s Go Red Luncheon, St. John’s Block Party, Artigras, Rochester Civic Theatre, and Mayo Heritage Days, just to name a few.

From Our Dance Family to Yours
• Terri Allred, founder of Rochester International Dance Studio, moved to Rochester two years ago with her husband and two sons. Although reluctant to leave her warm home in NC, she was excited about the possibilities of bringing international dance to Rochester. Within two weeks of her move, she was teaching belly dance classes out of her (still unpacked) home. Within a year, the doors of Rochester International Dance Studio were open for business.
• Terri’s first professional career was working with survivors of sexual and domestic violence and running rape crisis centers in several states. She is still very involved in the nonprofit world through her volunteer work. She currently serves on the SAVE Coalition working to prevent sexual violence in our community, and on the Board of Directors for the International Association. She is the Chair of the World Festival, and volunteers with Rochesterfest and Thursdays on First to schedule dance activities for these two festivals. This past year, she won the Champion of Diversity Award from the Diversity Council.
• Terri believes that dance connects people from different backgrounds, cultures, and countries as a universal form of communication, understanding, and shared joy.
